Since establishment in 1997, Rial Fishing has continued to expand through successful joint ventures and acquisitions. Our growth strategy is complimented by various organisational and operational strategies.
These strategies are designed to unite the Eastern Cape commercial fishing companies, vessel owning companies and their rights in order to enhance the operational effectiveness of Rial Fishing.
Our Core Business Strategies aim to:
- Increase Market Share and infiltrate new markets.
- Broaden supply bases through Enterprise Development Initiatives.
- Increase the supply of fresh fish inputs through Enterprise Development & industry consolidation.
- Reduce overhead costs through economies of scale; process efficiency and improved performance.
- Enhance Corporate Governance in order to:
- Increase the efficiency of resources and
- Better align the interests of customers, business partners and Rial Fishing.
We understand that our community, our staff and this planet are precious.
Therefore core strategies also include the aim to:

Rial Fishing was established in the Eastern Cape fishing Community. As such, the company has flourished and grown to be a socially aware and economically supportive asset to the South African fishing community. Rial Fishing is determined to thrive as a commercial company and bring all the rewards back home, to the Eastern Cape community.
